Deepcar

Deepcar is nestled in the Stocksbridge and Upper Don ward of the city of Sheffield, and it falls under the Penistone and Stocksbridge constituency, although this is set to change and Deepcar will become a part of the Sheffield Hillsborough constituency for the next census. Deepcar itself is one of the larger areas of the ward, and the ward is one of the largest in Sheffield, in fact it takes up almost a hundred square kilometres and as of the last census the population was just under 20,000 people. This in itself should inform you about Deepcar, it features an S36 postal zone and is a very rural and peaceful area in which to live.

Housing in Deepcar is varied and ranges from smaller terraced and semi-detached properties through to larger detached units, and there are a number of out of town business parks. The main attraction of Deepcar is the easy access to the green space and countryside of South Yorkshire, with both the Wharncliffe Crags and the Wharncliffe Woods being just a short distance away. The Crags are especially spectacular and offer a view down into Deepcar, and many comment on how isolated and peaceful the area seems even though it is just six miles from the main city of Sheffield and all of the associated urban hustle and bustle.

There are many charming village pubs and local shops in Deepcar, indeed the area often has a much more village like feel rather than seeming like a suburb of one of the largest cities in the United Kingdom. House prices hold their value well throughout the majority of Deepcar thanks to its rural location and community feel, and there are a number of local schools that rate very highly in yearly reviews. There is also a nature reserve very close to the suburb itself, this provides a home for a tremendous variety of wildlife, some of it quite rare and endangered. The countryside surrounding Deepcar has a unique feeling all of its own that is not replicated anywhere else in the country, the tapestry of heathers and bracken across the area gives it a very charming and ancient feel and it is easy to see why many people visit the area from up and down the country each year to enjoy the countryside and scenery.
