Batemoor
Batemoor is a popular housing and residential area of the city of Sheffield. It is a part of the Sheffield Heeley parliamentary constituency and it makes up a portion of the Beauchief and Greenhill ward. In recent years Batemoor has worked hard to dispel the notion of it being nothing more than a housing estate by entering into to a process of rejuvenation and regeneration in the past decade. Many of the dated 1960's properties have been swept away and replaced with more spacious homes for families to enjoy, and the ones that still remain have been upgraded to more modern standards.
Despite the urban connotations that many people still have with Batemoor it is in fact quite close to the countryside, it borders the Derbyshire fields and woodland and is next door to a large farming community with many charming rural and idyllic villages just a short journey away. As a residential area housing in Batemoor tends to be very affordable (especially for first time buyers) and the transport links are good with easy access to Sheffield and many other towns and villages. There are also a number of schools and a large shopping centre, and easy access to the M1 ensures that Batemoor is popular with commuters who choose to drive to work elsewhere in the country. Dronfield railway station is also close providing connections to many major locations in the country on a regular basis.
There is no denying that Batemoor still has some way to come until it becomes as recognised as some of the more famous Sheffield suburbs however great progress has been made in recent years and Batemoor is an excellent affordable place in which to live offering excellent value, comfortable and well appointed housing for those looking to let or buy to let. Batemoor borders Greenhill, Lowedges, Nortan, Jordanthorpe and nearby Dronfield and it boasts easy access to the urban green space in the Beauchief and Greenhill ward.
